The Cowardice of the Taliban: A shame to the Muslim World

Yesterday a 14 year old girl was shamelessly shot by a Taliban activist. Her crime to be a girl and at her tender age have made headlines for her activism in pro of education for girls in her country and critiizing the Taliban for their intolerance.

Malala Yousufzai is a hero and should be taken as an example by the Muslims around the world. A proud young, intelligent girl in a society in which being a woman is paramount to a breeding animal. The fanatics wants them to have no education and no voice whatsoever.

As Malala has pointed out their is not one passage of the Koran in which the Prophet says that women are secondary citizens and should remain uneducated and oppressed. But she has nearly paid with her life for speaking out aloud and without fear.

The shooting of Malala Yousufzai on Tuesday in the town of Mingora in the volatile Swat Valley should horrify Pakistanis across the religious, political and ethnic spectrum but it also should be critiziced and condemned by the Muslim religious leaders around the world.

What kind of man would attack a bus full of young girls and shoot his target in the head? How cowardly can he be?? Men like him are nothing better than rats but what is terrifying is that they hide this cowardice behind the curtain of religion. An interpretation of Islam that should be condemned all around the world because that interpretation goes against the true teaching of Islam.

Malala appears to be out of immediate danger after doctors removed a bullet lodged in her neck that could have been fatal. She is in intensive care and not out of danger. The next 48 hours will be crucial.

Pakistani society has reacted against this monstrosity but they now need with the military and the government to destroy the Taliban and their fanatic teachings. They have said they will not stop until they silence her. They are the ones that by all means need to be silenced.

“In attacking Malala, the terrorist have failed to grasp that she is not only an individual, but an icon of courage and hope who vindicates the great sacrifices that the people of Swat and the nation gave, for wresting the valley from the scourge of terrorism,” Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said in a statement. And he is right.

Pakistan should become a vibrant, modern democracy  tolerant of all religions. The true tolerant Islam should be taught in the madrassas and Islam should not dictate the policy of the goverment as Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Founder of Pakistan hoped for.

Malala is admired across Pakistan for exposing the Taliban’s atrocities and advocating girls’ education in the face of religious extremism. She should be admired by ALL Muslims around the world.

The Military should launch a major offensive to hunt down the Taliban leaders and put them on trial for atrocities against the Pakistani people,

Shame on the Taliban who hate women and who are such COWARDS. Shame on the Musliim zealots that approve of their acts. Muslim leaders and Imans around the world should condemn this disgusting act without any hesitation. They will do a great favour to their religion. A religion that should be of Tolerance.

  1. Malala’s life is still in critical danger. I suggest that people see the brilliant documentary CLASS DISMISSED about this extraordinary young girl, her family and her struggle to speak out for the education of women in PAkistan.

  2. Malala is in the UK and the doctors are confident that she will fully recover. This cowardly and shameful attempt to murder her by the Taliban seems to have backfired and many people in Pakistan are turning their back on them. Finally reason and tolerance might prevail

    1. I happen to think that one of the reasons for feminism rising rapidly in the 60's was that alot of married women were alone during the day in the newly created suburbs. Being alone is unpleasant and would be a motivator for women wanting to have careers. In earlier times, married women would have lived in nehdgborioohs where they would have been surrounded by many relatives and had the ability to socialize and get support from them. I think in some European societies it is still like that.

  3. A powerful share, I simply given this onto a colleague who was doing a little evaluation on this. And he in reality purchased me breakfast because I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the deal with! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I really feel strongly about it and love reading extra on this topic. If doable, as you develop into experience, would you thoughts updating your weblog with extra details? It is extremely useful for me. Huge thumb up for this weblog put up!

  4. Whenever we consider the purpose of the term really like, installing relation to its an intimate relationship along with one more, nevertheless to be a feeling that is definitely engendered if you have miltchmonkey a greater marriage with yourself very , or maybe as a feeling of larger oneness with the family or maybe humanity ( blank ) that turns into a lot more extraordinary that each any individual is looking to get in your everyday living is actually love.

  5. The latest brave act of this criminal group of fanatics that are the Talibans has been to murder UN volunteers on the polio vaccination team in Pakistan. These people are so backward and selfish that they prefer to murder innocent volunteers that are on a mission to help their fellow human beings than to prevent that thousands of Pakistani children suffer the crippling effects of polio.
Where are the moderate religeous leaders to put them back on track. The Islam that they preach goes against the very essence of the Koran. If the Profet would be reborn he would be horrified as to what these fanatics have done with his teachings.
They preach hate and intolerance and against this, Muslim leaders and Imans around the world should not only condemn their errors but should preach the true Islam.

  6. Yesterday Malala was release from hospital and she will now be living in Birmingham as her father has been given a post at the Pakistan Consulate. I am certain that she will be a voice for women education in the Muslim world and specially in Pakistan from the UK and will be supported by true Muslims around the world. The Muslims that embrace tolerance and are true to their faith. not those fanatics that have hijacked the Holy Book of the oran for their backward murdserous agenda.

  7. Today close to 200 site Muslims have been killed by bombs plantes by Shite Muslims? What kind of heartless people and in the name of what God can be behind this sectarian violence. The Prophet and Ala must be so ashmed of what has become of their religion in the hands of murderous zealots that use religion only for their own interests.
And also fanatic Muslim forces are conquering parts of Mali, killing other Muslims to implant strict sharia law, a law that goes against any respect for human rights.
Muslim religeous leaders around the world should stand up against this barbarity and unite as if they are good Muslims and follow the teachings of the Prophet as they should be followed their would be no major differences between Sufis, Shites and Sunnis. I pray for that.
